Providing one-on-one counseling services to help high school students and their families navigate the college admissions process.
After 25+ years of working in the fast-paced business of advertising I decided to switch gears, become a marketing consultant, and volunteer at our local high school. It was there I discovered the need for and value in college counseling. Our kids were beginning their college search/admissions process and I saw first-hand how complex and stressful it was. I wanted to help ease some of their anxiety and learned all that I could about the application and admissions process so we could enjoy the journey.
Fast forward - After both kids successfully launched their college careers, my husband and I moved from Connecticut to San Diego where I continued to explore a career in higher education. Volunteering at the University of Southern California Career Center helping students craft their resumes and cover letters reaffirmed my professional journey.
It was fate! Our West Coast neighborhood was filled with families and college-bound students who were feeling anxious about the process so I offered my guidance. It was an incredibly rewarding experience and a success for all. Every student was accepted into their top choice school and more!
The Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program at the University of California-Irvine has given me a strong foundation of the college admissions process, understanding of financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and provides a network of college experts with access to the latest trends in the ever-changing landscape of college admissions. I continue to immerse myself in the admissions process, visit colleges, and successfully counsel families with high school students.
My passion is helping youth to discover and present their authentic-self on their college applications and gain admission into a college that fits them best academically, emotionally, socially, and financially.
