Our Approach

Applying to college can be daunting. The college search and admissions process has become more complicated and competitive in recent years. It is my mission to simplify the process and help alleviate some of the stress for college-bound students and their families so they can enjoy the journey. Together we will discover the student’s strengths, talents, and interests in order to present their best and authentic-self in the application process.

Every student is unique. I take on a limited number of clients, allowing more time to really get to know my students, helping them figure out who they are, what they care about, and what they have to offer a college/university. This self-discovery process includes a personalized aptitude assessment and exploration that will empower students to explore their academic/career options and becomes the foundation for their college application.

It’s important to build a balanced list of schools. This is an evolving process based on the student and family’s input, on-line research, and college visits, as well as my personal knowledge and insights into hundreds of universities and colleges. It is my goal to help identify schools that fit the student best academically, emotionally, socially, and financially.

Every student has a story. Together we will brainstorm on the student’s personal statement and supplemental essays and I will work closely with them throughout the editing process. I will help them craft their extracurricular activity descriptions and complete their applications so that “their story” is compelling and stands out among the sea of applicants.

Organization helps reduce stress and can be empowering. I will create an admissions strategy (ED/EA/RD) with the family and create a timeline to meet college deadlines and application requirements, keeping the student organized and on-track, making the admissions process exciting rather than stressful.

I support my clients from application to acceptance and beyond. I’m there for my students every step of the way, guiding them through their self-discovery, exploring colleges, navigating the admissions process, pressing that first application submit button, and celebrating/evaluating their college acceptances. Parents are involved in important meetings and updated all along the way, but with my guidance, they can focus on supporting their student and enjoy their child’s last year at home before heading off to college.
